Travels! FL, NV, RI, IL

My, oh my.  I haven't posted in here in foreverrrr.  This post is gonna be focused on the many trips Den and I took from March to May.  A lot of fun places visited but ever so happy to be home and not living in a suitcase!!  So, let's get to the pictures and funny stories :D

MIAMI, FLORIDA

We went to the Ultra Music Festival in March during Miami Music Week (Friday - Sunday).  First let me just say - EPIC! We rented a beautiful apartment in Downtown Miami that was a 10-minute walk to the venue.  I can't even find a great picture to describe how vast the venue was and how many stages were there.  I wish I took more pictures at the festival, but c'est la vie - can't capture everything.  And since it was Den and I's first big festival/time in Miami, we went out all...partying and dancing all three days/nights....which we seriously felt on Monday.  So glad we were able to relax and visit a South Beach beach.  But! horrible taxi problems!  We couldn't find a taxi and waited for an hour until we got a friend to pick us up. So crazy!!

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

So in April, went to Las Vegas courtesy of Kabam! It was an all-expense paid trip weekend (Friday - Sunday). Once again, this was Den and I's first time in this magical city that we wanted to do as much as possible! We stayed at the Wynn Encore with Kabam night events and also one day event for the attendees.  We chose to do massages and it was phenomenal! The night events were super fun too...I guess the best way to describe it is like those over the top weddings that have EVERYTHING ...silly photobooth, wild monkey to sit on your shoulder, cigar table, goofy party items, bendy dancers, cute small not fulfilling cooking stations, and semi-popular DJs (first night we were suppose to have Lil Jon but no show, but the second night we had Pauly D, ahha). We tried to explore the strip but was very tight with the timing but of course we had time for the casino buffet!! We were such piggies that we went in for both the lunch and dinner menus.

Company shirts - love it!

Our huge hotel room.

DJ Pauly D!!
At the Palms...flash was a bit too much for me to handle -_-

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

So I don't think I need to recap RI since most of you were there, haha.  Onward to Chicago!  Being there to visit Den's family also the brother's wedding, we also celebrated our third anniversary.  Den had gotten me a beautiful Tiffany's necklace. It's so pretty - gold and lightweight to wear everyday and has two hearts to represent us (cues the 'awww' and/or vomit motions).  I had Den open his gift before our trip and I had gotten him knick knacks for his scooter and gaming headphones.

The weather was so crazy and many of us were worried for the wedding day (it had snowed the day before!).  Fortunately it cleared up and Den's brother had a beautiful day in Chi-town.  They had it in a beautiful church (I think it was the biggest back in the olden days).  And then at this park building that had an amazing view of the city (look at blog header pic). There wedding was small but a lot of fun with the music and games they played.

March Madness

Hi...wanted to update you all before Den and I embark on our Florida trip this weekend :D We are both so excited for the trip and will definitely be taking amazing shots with my Nokia, haha. And I must toot our horn since we are packing just one carry-on and 2 backpacks for the both of us.  That is a great I must say ^_^.

Here are some snapshots of what Den and I have been doing these past weeks - enjoy!

We went down to San Jose to do some shopping as well as check out the area for some ramen - so good!!  It is so much warmer down there too since I'm assuming it is blocked from the ocean breeze?  The ramen place was funny since it was a little stall/fast food-esque area in a Japanese supermarket.  We waited in line and therefore a mini photoshoot ensued.  And heads up, Den didn't want me to post the pics since he didn't get a haircut yet ....but I don't care ahaah (sorry babes).

The past 2 weekends ago we went to Alameda (man made island...I think prior landfill? ...future of Johnston? ahha).  I went to show Den the secret new Target they had built and how untouched/brand new with everything in stock and so many markdowns - a dream for the bro and dr. kue hahahha.  After that, Den took me to a naval base where he had taken his motorcycle classes and we took some pics.  It reminds vaguely of a place I went with Dad sometime ago....does any of sisters remember from LVA days? The weather was GORGEOUS and for some odd reason I like these pics of not looking at the cam.  I feel so hipster I guess haha.

This past week, we went to take a stroll before going to the gym.  There is a nice view point of the bay with some random Snoopy airplanes/jet fighters. I deemed it best to just take a picture like Dad ahahaha.  We also put some frames up to spruce up the apartment.  Hlee got me the little Khaleesi doll so I thought it was best to make a Game of Thrones joke :P  Also it was GDC (Game Developer's Conference) and Den went the expo and got all these t-shirts. So funny!  Lastly, I did some broke ass nail art for this weekend's trip!

Well that's it for me :D Will try to update you all in April! Hope everyone is doing well and staying semi-stress free!!

News Update

Hey!! I haven't updated in awhile since nothing mucho grande has happened much in my life.  But here's a blurb about some things that I deemed good to round up into a post :D

1. I got a new phone!  It's the Nokia Lumia Icon and it's fantastic :)  My Iphone 4 was getting seriously slow and the photos weren't that great on it.  My new phone is awesome at taking pics! Den and I were fighting who was able to play with it more when I first got it ahaha.  He did some test shots in low light (one of the perks of the phone camera) - pretty cool! Just a FYI - I can still do FaceTime but only with my ipad, so just use my email address versus my phone number.

2. Den and I are going to Las Vegas!  Den's company reached their goal and is sending all their employees to a weekend in Sin City! It's gonna be so much fun since it will be our first time :)  We're going in April so that is a nice trip to look forward to after we go to Florida in upcoming weeks.

3. I have been applying to jobs this week and got interviewed for two positions.  They are not anything snazzy but it's better than staying home and watching My 600lb. Story (which I LOVE AND LOATHE).  One position was for an Asian research scientist and she was really....cold? hospital feeling? to the point?  I interviewed at another company that is similar to Avon (throwing house parties to rape your wallet with pointless objects) BUT! It's jewelry and I would be part of the customer care department.  So if I get this job, please look forward to heinous jewelry on your birthdays, haha.

4. Regarding my crafts, I have finished the quilt for Den's sister. I also wanted to do another blanket with the sating edging ..but am using polyester instead...bad idea? Then for Sadie's birthday, I knitted her an owl! I hope she likes it. Funny story, I didn't have enough batting and Den suggested stuffing it with newspaper, ahahha.  I have also done some refashioning of sorts to some shirts for Den and I's upcoming trip to Florida (we're going to a music festival).  So I have been working on my skanky tops instead of heartwarming arts and crafts, ahah.  I will spare you the skank shots.

5. I need to tell everyone who wears a bra (9 out of 10 my readers) that they need to measure themselves with this new way I found on Reddit!!!!!!  You can read more about it here, where they go into great lengths about various types of breasts...otherwise here is the guide to how to measure yourself.  So in the past, I have been wearing a 36B but it hasn't really worked out that great - back fat and then gaps in the cups and the dreaded stretching of the band and then you're out one bra when you trash that MOFO.  After I measured myself (which I'm now a 32DD/34D) - IT FITS LIKE A DREAMMMMMMM (*start fog machine and chorus of angels*).  No joke! It is seriously a difference - no more pinching, random gaps, stretched out bands (the real trick is that you clip it on the FIRST loops, not the third one (the most left), so as time goes by and stretches the band you then move towards the third loops - DUHHH, why wasn't that common sense to me?!). I don't know if it's the koolaid or what, but I have made a convert to this new bra system. Lastly, they also talk about sister sizes, meaning that if you're say 34B, you can potentially go up to 32A or down to 36C to accommodate your mammary glands. Who knew all this fun stuff about bras!?!!

Well I guess that's about sums it up for me.  The weather here is great around 65-70.  Nice and breezy so my pits aren't really going around staining all my shirts ahha.  It's such a first world problem honestly to live in a warm climate area since you're forced to shave your pits and legs and pedicures if you want your puppies out. I'll end it with a photo of me walking in the beautiful sunset yesterday...and you can see Golden Gate in the background! (Don't mind the hair, I've been trying a new thing where I wash it 2x a week....it holds such volume now..and shape)

Update!

So much to write about and yet I wait like a gabillion weeks to update you all.  First and foremost, I didn't get the job :( I was sad at first but Den said that I was overqualified and they probably assumed I wouldn't stay for the long run.

Den and I celebrated the Lunar New Year at this banquet that was part of Den's friend's organization. It was super fun since they had yummy food, dragon dancing/entertainment, and a raffle!  I really wanted the blankets they were raffling but didn't get one - aw man!!! But Den did surprise me with a fluffy blanket when he went to LA for the following weekend - so win for me!!

For Valentine's Day, we went to a lovely steakhouse and was soooo yummyyyy!! For gifts, Denny got me a Ninja blender, flowers, and chocolate.  I got him a monogrammed shirt and knick knacks from this Japanese dollar store, Daiso (which is the BOMBBB).

Lastly, we celebrated Den's friend, Phong's birthday.  He had hot pot at his apartment and I made the cake for him! It was a rainbow swirl cake and came out pretty cool!

Lastly, my low carb, high fat diet is going well!! I've lost 5 lbs. since starting around Jan 21, so I'm excited :)  I'm on at 1400 calorie diet and can consume only about 40grams of carbs but sometimes I do cheat (ex: rainbow cake).  This diet has been good since I'm so much more aware of what I'm eating - who knew how much snacking/unneeded calories I was inhaling!?  Also I hope the Ninja will play a positive roll in my diet!!!  really just want to smoothie everything! Hahha.

Well that's all for now.  I'll update next with some of the crafts I've done but can't show too early since one of them is a gift for Sadie!  Hope all of you are doing well <3

Oh Harrooooo...

Hey all -

So this past weekend, Den and I spent it celebrating his 27th birthday!  I surprised him with a dinner at a Brazilian meat buffet and gifts (mostly clothes).  He thought that was all for his birthday but I surprised him with a little get together with his friends and went to a club for a concert.  It was so much fun and he had a blast and seriously couldn't wrap his mind around it hahaha.

So many people were celebrating their birthday at the restaurant; Den was so happy when it was his turn! Aside: another shirt I made for him :D

No, Den does not hit me - I just can't put makeup on correctly.
It's a number 1 but of course everyone thought it was a penis :(

In other news, I got my hair did!! It's....BLONDE!!! It was a crazy long process since I wanted it to be 'ombre' versus highlights. But it was so worth it since I love it :D And I am so happy by hair didn't fall out - thank god for my biotin supplements!!  Hahaha...It was funny though when I asked the stylist if I could temporary dye it darker (for when I visit RI) and he said it would turn green.  Soooo let's hope the parents don't flip the switch ahah.

And lastly, I finished the hat although it didn't turn out to be a slouchy beanie :( I followed the directions and it was fool-proof since it was a YouTube video. Wish I could give to K.Mac. or maybe I'll send to Emily for her birthday ahaha.  But onto another knitting adventure!  Oh yeah, I went thrift shopping and found like a pack of 14 knitting needles for $1.50 - SWEET!!!!

Alrighty, that's the 411 on my week.  Probably going to go crazy for the weekend - as in worrisome and irritable for a few reasons - 1. I don't know if I got the position I posted about before, 2. I'm starting this low carb, high fat diet and just want to bite off Den's head while cuddle with a loaf of bread, and 3. I have laundry to do and have a ghetto-ass hamper to drag to the laundry room -_-.

Have a great Lunar New Year!!!

Happy New Year :D

Hey all -

I hope all of you had a great time ringing in the new year! Den and I had so much fun at the event I talked about in last post.  BUT! I was going to destroy Den one point during that night since he lost his wallet!! And it was super special because it was the one I had custom made for him and it had my driver's license.  But good luck was on his side and he found it - dry and full of all his stuff - and right before the countdown! Hahah awesome!! Just some pictures below, wish we took some more of the decorations it was so cute, but alas peer pressure got the best of us and we had to play catch up on drinking (our friends had already been drinking prior to the event).

In other news, I have been interviewing for a position at the Academy of Art University as an undergraduate admissions representative.  I just came back from my second interview - I hope I get the job.  But I won't know until next week.  So I will probably stress myself to the point of shingles 2.0.

Additionally, I have been trying to knit and I think I succeeded!  I started with trying to make infinity scarf but didn't have enough yarn so just made this donut? big neck gator? IDK what to call it but I like it :D But I secretly wish I had my crochet minion (Dr. MK) to make it all for meeee *evil laugh* My next project is a beanie on circular needles.  It's going well so far but who knows, by next post, I may will have had just bought one and lie to you all saying I knitted it :)

In other craftiness, I made Denny a shirt for his birthday!  I used my die cut machine to cut out the letters for stenciling and then painted in the letters. It's cooler in the dark since I used glow in the dark paint.  It may mean nothing to any of you since it's this gaming term used in League of Legends (don't worry the lettering was centered after this picture - this was just a mock up to see alignment).

Alrighty, that's what's new with me! Don't forget to say happy birthday to Den this Thursday :D

Checking in before the New Year

Hey -

Christmas went by so fast for Denny and I but it was so much fun.

We attended Den's company party which was held at the AT&T Ballpark.  It was a nice venue to have it and they placed fun things to do like caricatures, park tour, photobooth, and many others. Also, yummy food stations and open bar!!!  Sidenote: the picture for our holiday card was taken on that night too...not too many nights I get a "photo-ready" Den, haha.

On Christmas morning (Den forced me to wait until morning vs. midnight :[ )Denny spoiled me with a new laptop (touchscreen!), makeup, and an electric kettle.  I bought him a winter coat (although the weather here has been warmer...grr) and some glow in the dark stickers.  I'm waiting for his birthday to pull out the big gifts, hahah.

For New Years's Eve, we are gonna stay in the city and attend an event where Moby will be Dj-ing.  I'm excited since it's open bar and hopefully it will be a blast ringing in 2014 in SF :)  To prep, I got a haircut today which I am so happy about.  I had gotten my hair cut in Sept. but seriously felt so heavy/triangle head.  So I'm glad I found a new stylist - who happened to have lived in RI/CT for a couple of years and recently returned!

Lastly, I have begun sewing a baby quilt for Den's sister.  I forget how annoying quilting can be since everything has to line but Den says that it brings character to it...meh.  We don't know the gender yet so hopefully I'm making a gender neutral quilt, haha ^_^;;;
