Road Trip - Day 1 and 2

Denny and I took some pictures during our road trip from RI to CA. This post is about us starting from RI to OH (Day 1) and then OH to MO (Day 2).

When we left on Tuesday after Labor Day, it was tough seeing Mom and Dad as we were driving away.  A lot of thoughts were rushing in my head - did I leave anything behind? OMG I miss my family so much...I'm not going to see them everyday...WTF am I doing...does Den's Hmong clothes still smell of vomit...it was a crazy car ride beginning.

By the time we got to CT, my tears were drying up (Thank God) and we were on our merry way.  We were suppose to visit a national park in PA but we missed the hours of operation (by 24 minutes) so we then started our way to OH.
At a PA rest stop...Den wanting me to point to the
west to rep CA....I was pointing east.
Ohio was quite funny.  Both Denny and I thought that Ohio was in Central time, so we were making plans with Den's friends thinking we would get there an hour early.  WE  WERE WRONG.  Ohio is Eastern time, so his friends were waiting for us at the bar for an hour ahaha.  On top of that, Den thought one of his friends still lived in Ohio and invited him out.  What Den didn't know (until we were at the bar) was that he drove 3 hrs from Michigan to see us.  All in all, it was fun to have some food that wasn't at a rest stop.

So Day 2, we decided to explore Ohio a little more as well as visit Den's old stomping grounds when he attended CCAD.  We first went to North Market for brunch.  It was a great place, I think all of you would of liked - it was like Faneuil Hall, but bigger and had a nice seating area above so you could overlook the whole market.  They had a lot of choices but we decided on some yummy pho and grilled pork rice bowl at the Vietnamese stall.

After fueling up, we then moved onto the CCAD campus.  Den pointed out all the places he had classes and where he used to live.  He also pointed out all the places he went to "urban explore" aka parkour haha.  There was this cool sculpture out in the front of the art department....that spelled art.

Next we made our way to MO to go see the St. Louis Arch.  We were both a bit iffy if it was to worth to see it but it was truly beautiful.  Of course our timing isn't always the best on this road trip, the tram ride/museum was closed.  But it was really nice to stretch our legs, take some pictures, and enjoy the nice park right next to the financial/downtown area.

Couldn't get the whole arch in with either our camera phones or Nikon.

To end our Day 2, we decided to drive a little farther into MO (Springfield to be exact) so we could get to OK around the afternoon the next day.  Luckily with our smartphones we were able to book lodging as well as try to find decent places to eat.  But with so much driving, we just wanted a place with good ratings/reviews and to eat something for sustenance and pass the hell out.

Anyways that will be all for tonight.  Back to being a creep on Craigslist....not in the Personals section but fo dat J O B!!!
